Droege Group saves e-commerce startup Tausendkind

We are pleased that we were able to support Tausendkind in the search for investors and the subsequent M&A process.

Founded in 2010, Tausendkind GmbH, based in Berlin, has established itself as an online shop for fashion and shoes, toys and books, equipment and accessories, as well as furniture for babies‘ and children‘s rooms. The e-commerce company employs 80 people and has an annual turnover of around 50 M € (2019).

Due to the COVID 19  situation, an investor withdrew its commitment for a new financing round and the company had to file for bankruptcy on March 27, 2020 – despite increasing sales. Dr. Jesko Stark of GT Restructuring‘s  was appointed preliminary insolvency administrator.

In close cooperation with Dr. Stark and the management of Tausendkind we prepared a selection of potential investors to approach. After identifying several interested parties and subsequent negotiations, we were able to transfer the company to the Droege Group / Weltbild Group as new owner.

The continuation of the company and the takeover of all assets as part of a transferring restructuring could thus be ensured.

We wish Tausendkind continuous success in all its future operations.
