Successful sale of Edel-Optics – opticians Bode and Rottler take over the online eyewear retailer

Edel-Optics is one of the leading providers in the online sale of glasses and sunglasses. The company enjoys international renown and is popular with many fashion-conscious customers. In February 2024, Edel-Optics had to file for insolvency in Hamburg, which was partly due to economic difficulties caused by current and past crises as well as reluctant consumer behavior.

Tjark Thies from Reimer Rechtsanwälte was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator. Centuros provided exclusive support in the investor process as part of an M&A process.

The family-run opticians Rottler and Optiker Bode are now taking over the online eyewear retailer Edel-Optics as part of insolvency plan proceedings, also with the intention of improving their online presence. As a result, all of the more than 40 employees will keep their jobs.
