Following a successful search for investors, Hoeller Elektrolyzer GmbH is taken over by H2greenPlanet GmbH, a subsidiary of Buro GmbH
Hoeller Electrolyzer GmbH, an innovative tech start-up specializing in the development of highly efficient hydrogen electrolysers, has been restructured through a successful collaboration with the management consultancy Centuros. Since its foundation in 2016, the company has positioned itself as a pioneer in the development of PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) technology for sustainable hydrogen production. In this process, water is split into its components oxygen and hydrogen using electrical voltage – a key process for producing green hydrogen from renewable energies such as wind power.
However, Hoeller Electrolyzer GmbH faced financial challenges at the beginning of 2024 and filed an application for the opening of insolvency proceedings at Schwerin Local Court on March 20, 2024. Lawyer Remo Kruse from Anchor was appointed as provisional insolvency administrator and led the complex negotiations to rescue the company.
Centuros acted as exclusive advisor in this challenging process and provided significant support in the search for investors. Thanks to the targeted approach of potential investors, a buyer was found in the form of H2greenPlanet GmbH, a subsidiary of Buro GmbH from Winden in the Black Forest. The takeover as part of an asset deal came into effect on September 1, 2024, thus securing the business operations of Hoeller Electrolyzer GmbH.
With the successful completion of the sale to H2greenPlanet GmbH, a significant step has been taken for the future of the company. The investor will further develop the technological know-how and innovations of Hoeller Electrolyzer GmbH and intensify the focus on sustainable hydrogen solutions.
Centuros is pleased to have accompanied this process and to have been able to make an important contribution to the continuation of a future-oriented company.
