Continuation of Hermann Sibum GmbH’s business operations secured – Successful takeover by investor consortium

Georg Schloenbach, insolvency administrator, and his colleague Sonja Welzel of BBL Brockdorff Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, have successfully maintained and restructured the business operations of Hermann Sibum GmbH Metall & Kunststoffbau in Ostrhauderfehn as part of a structured M&A process.

Insolvency proceedings were initiated on 1 September 2025, as per the directive of the Leer Local Court. Concurrently, business operations were secured as part of a transferable restructuring and transferred to a new company, which will operate under the name Metallbau Sibum GmbH in the future. The new shareholders have close ties to the company and are clearly committed to its long-term development. This underscores both the regional roots and the future viability of the business.

Preliminary proceedings began on 28 May 2025, and business operations continued in collaboration with management to prepare for the restructuring and establish a sustainable solution.

Hermann Sibum GmbH was founded in 1973 and has since become a leading provider of windows, doors, roofing and facades. In 2024, the company generated sales of approximately €7.5 million and currently has 26 people on its payroll. Its customer base is primarily comprised of public sector organisations.
